1, Warm white or cold white?
Generally, there are 3 kinds of color temperature for home lighting, warm white 2700~3000K, neutral white 3500~4000K, and cold white 4500~5000K. In the US and Canada, most people like warm white in house, because warm white looks soft, and can make people relax, cold white looks brighter, and can make people concentrate. But more people choose cold white for bathroom lighting, maybe because the bathroom is more working space than a living space.
2, What kind of bulb it takes? Where to get the replacement bulb if the light burns out?
Nearly all LED vanity lights are LED integrated light fixtures, the LEDs are soldered onto the circuit board, and the circuit board is stick onto the light fixture. Customers cannot change the LEDs or the circuit board by themselves if the light burns out. So please make sure to choose the LED vanity light with a lifetime warranty from the seller or the manufacturer.
3, What dimmer switch should I use with the LED vanity light?
TRIAC dimmer switches are widely used for lighting control in the US and Canada, which were designed for incandescent or halogen bulb, a purely resistive load. This causes a compatibility issue when people change to LED lights, a capacitive load with much less power consumption. LED manufacturers to try to make their LED lights to be compatible with as many as TRIAC dimmer switches, mostly Lutron or Leviton brand, but it’s still impossible to cover all models in the market. Normally, the manufacturer or the seller will give a recommended list of compatible dimmer switches on the product page or user manual, if no, please contact the seller for the recommended list.
4, Is this fixture UL listed? Or ETL listed?
Though a safety certificate is not mandatory for lighting products in the US and Canada, it’s always good to choose a LED vanity light with a safety certificate, either UL, ETL, or CSA. If you like one LED vanity light but no safety certificate, at least make sure the LED driver under the backplate is certified by UL, ETL, or CSA. Many sellers may claim that their products are CE or CCC certified, these two certificates are not for North America, CE is for Europe and CCC is for China.

5, Can it be mounted vertically, or on the ceiling?
Normally LED vanity light is above the mirror or the vanity top, but sometimes, people prefer to mount a light on both sides of the mirror, or even on the ceiling due to marginal spacing above the mirror. If only one side of the backplate, the top side, is used to anchor the fixture to the mounting bracket, then it can only be mounted horizontally on the wall. If both sides of the backplate are used to anchor the fixture to the mounting bracket, then it can be mounted vertically or even on the ceiling.
6, Does it give off enough light to brighten the bathroom?
If the LED vanity light is the only light source in the bathroom, it must be able to brighten the whole bathroom, instead of only the mirror or the vanity area. The easiest way is calculating lumens per square foot, for bathroom, the recommended value is 70–80 lumens per square foot, and the minimum value is 40 lumens per square foot. We would recommend using multiple light sources to achieve the best lighting effect in the bathroom, such as a ceiling light as general lighting and a LED vanity light as task lighting.
