An open-source relational database, Altibase is going to provide a certification system to NIRS (National Information Resources Service). NIRS has adopted Altibase for confirming existing infrastructure solutions and application of NIRS. Altibase will find the solutions for NIRS and migrate them to a cloud center. NIRS is an agency of the Ministry of Public Administration and Safety, Korea. It manages information resources of central government institutions.
Altibase will allow NIRS to mitigate the problems found in a cloud certification center such as source configuration management and build distribution management. It will help NIRS to smoothen and automate its migration process in migrating data, schemes and stored procedures from existing centers to the cloud center. DBA costs of NIRS are very high. Altibase will lower the implementation and DBA costs through its industry standards language, drivers and interfaces of the relational database. In addition, Altibase is also an expert in related TCO through its flexible and competitive subscription fees payable at Altibase.
NIRS was struggling with many inbuilt problems to establish a cloud center for all government agencies and to establish a certification system. It requires the existing system to function glitch-free while they are converted into a cloud environment. NIRS is also aiming to virtualize all IT infrastructure to make the information flow smooth between IT centers. Currently, one integrated information system is controlling the cloud environment. NIRS was also looking for government pushed open source software like MariaDB and PostgreSQL. But NIRS has found them inappropriate in features and functions. Hence it has chosen Altibase to provide the solutions for these problems.
