Environment Ministers Theresa Villiers and Zac Goldsmith are drawing the party’s pre-election animal welfare policy ahead of the Tory party conference in Manchester. The party is going to consider introducing mandatory microchipping for pet cats to provide them the same safety measure that currently pet dogs are enjoying. Microchipping will be compulsory for all kittens for sale and the kittens who are already sold.
Theresa Villiers said that Microchipping of kittens will give kitten owners more peace of mind and they can successfully tackle cat theft. The party is also going to ban the sale of primates as pets and an outright ban on considering them pets in the future. The Labor Party has already decided to put ban on keeping primates as pets. There are more than 5,000 households that have a pet monkey. The Tories are also looking forward to placing a ban on all trophy hunting imports under a wide-ranging animal welfare policy framework.
Britishers have a long tradition of protecting animals in the country. The country has been saving the animals for many years before others followed. The new measures which the party has announced will protect many animals in homes, in agriculture, and in the wild. There is a campaign regarding an end of live exports and to choke off this trade.
