Toyota has widely adjusted its production and Toyota parts organization in North America. It has combined its supply chain division with One Toyota Initiative for providing improved and cost-efficient Toyota dealership service. The carmaker is combining its Logistics Control function with Service Parts and Accessories in new division namely Parts Distribution and Accessory Development (PDAD). It is led by Alok Vaish who is the general-vice president of the division.
PDAD has three main units, Toyota Engineering and Manufacturing North America (TEMNA), Parts Supply Chain Operations (PSCO), and Service Parts and Accessory Development (SPAD). The first unit will handle original equipment and Toyota service parts planning and will be subdivided into Advanced Planning and Cyclic Planning departments. PSCO will manage daily supply chain operations for production and service parts, and it is further divided into Daily Operations and Fulfillment Operations. The third unit SPAD will integrate accessory development and planning.
Toyota’s SPAO was earlier responsible for service parts and was separate from the company’s manufacturing and inbound logistics. There was no sharing of facilities and progress was made on opposite sides of the US. To make collaboration and consolidation, Toyota has moved its departments together into a single location in Plano. The operation of the new organizational structure will be supervised by Mary Rose who is a general manager of supply chain management.
