The home health care industry is expanding at an explosive growth rate. The industry is driven by baby boomers, the people born between 1946 and 1964. Different kinds of services offered by the home care service providers are enabling the industry’s growth and diversity.
As baby boomers are senior citizens today, they are suffering from chronic disease states and conditions like Alzheimer’s, cardiac diseases, COPD and diabetes. The home health care providers are offering seniors medications and treatment therapies for such diseases in the comfort of their own homes.
Home care service providers are responding to the conditions of the seniors through their tele health services. In a study, it was found that almost 73% of health care organizations are offering remote patient monitoring with clinical-grade devices.
A large number of organizations are looking to expand this service in the next two years. Home care service providers are offering assisted living, senior transportation, physical therapy, bathing, hygiene assistance and many more services.
They are not the only ones in the industry who are expanding their services. Health care providers are also moving into the home care industry. The idea behind this is to move patients to their homes who do not want continuous monitoring in costly hospitals. Home care service is primarily benefiting the seniors. They are happy with home care services and are finding themselves independent and stable.
