Shetou in Central Taiwan has been dominating the global stocking market since the Second World War. Almost 90% of the stocking products for worldwide customers are coming from Shetou. The place is famous as a hosiery village and currently, there are more than 200 hosiery factories.
Taiwanese manufacturers have invested in the development and research of women wear. They have also introduced electronic warp knitting machines. These machines are capable of making a complete row of stockings at the same time. Taiwanese manufacturers are continuously working on improving the production capacity so that they can serve global customers through well-recognized brands.
Hosiery factories in Changhua are creating a variety of styles of stockings such as making special holes in silk stocking for passing ribbons through them. This one-piece molding is considered well by women due to its flexibility and comfort to wear.
