Josephine Clinton who had been struggling with infertility suddenly saw a baby bump and took a pregnancy test to confirm it. After the test came negative, she went to the emergency room to get herself checked.
She was shocked to hear that the supposed baby bump was massive ovarian tumors. She said she has lost weight from all other parts of her body but her belly was getting big which caused her a lot of concern. She thought that losing weight and other symptoms was due to irritable bowel syndrome and due to her drinking more water but when her friend convinced her to take a pregnancy test, she took her symptoms more seriously.
When she went to the local hospital for a check-up she was told that there was a mass in her pelvic area. She was completely shocked to hear such an ordeal.
During her first biopsy, seven liters of fluid was drained from her belly and another seven during her second biopsy. Then, she was scheduled to undergo a full hysterectomy.
She had lost a lot of weight and her friends feared for her life. She told the Kennedy News and Media that the doctors took her cervix away in one go. She did not realize the dire situation she was in at that time and went through the suffering at a day at a time. She said that she thought every day that everything is going to be all right and she will get through it.
She has no signs of cancer but still goes for regular half-yearly check-ups to ensure that none of the tumors have returned. She is also spreading awareness among people for the symptoms of non-cancerous tumors which many women fail to notice in their own body.
