Mendon family’s dog was attacked by a coyote on Sunday morning and carried off to a nearby porch. It happened around 4:30 a.m. when Mendon family’s two dogs, Brodie and Cece, started barking. They were let out in the yard and suddenly one of the dogs yelped. The family watched the backyard surveillance video to see what happened.
The footage in black and white showed a coyote chasing the dogs around, snatching Brodie in its jaws and running off. The footage showed the coyote sprinting towards the trees with Brodie dangling from its mouth.
The family assumed that Brodie was dead but around 8 am the police called to know whether they had lost a dog. Brodie had been found alive and had turned on a neighbor’s porch. The dog was taken to a vet who took care of the bite wounds. The dog was also give shots against contracting rabies and since then has been recovering at home.
Brodie has been timid since the incident. The family has made an invisible fence around their yard, probably which saved Brodie’s life. And that has led to many more people checking out the invisible dog fence reviews to ensure the safety of their own dogs. The coyote may have got shock through Brodie’s collar as it was carrying the dog away. The coyote might have opened its mouth just enough to drop Brodie.
The family wanted to share the story so that everyone can protect their pets as they had never seen a coyote in their backyard. Anything can happen and anyone can reach the backyard unexpectedly. Everybody needs to take precaution to safeguard their pets. Nobody knows when there are predators lurking nearby.
