Rose Leto has been working as a personal injury lawyer for the last 20 years. She talks about her experience with handling a stream of law that is challenging yet not so much talked about.
According to her, the three most important things that she looks at representing for her clients are their struggles, their needs and their lost ambitions. Usually, cases range from long-term disability policy to compensation for an injury. Medical malpractice is also a big area of work.
She has advice to the lawyers who are starting out in this challenging field. Rose feels that one of her biggest strengths has been to be able to see the struggle of her clients and empathise with them at a human level. And once that is done she supports her claim with evidences and articulates everything as elaborately and simply as possible.
Rose’s first stint with fighting a case happened as a pre-teen when a teacher asked her to solve a trivial fight at school. Later, this little advocate went on to study at York University, Osgoode Hall Law school and later summered at Neinstein Personal Injury Lawyers. She has now completed her 20 years in the firm.
Rose, who is now a partner at the firm, feels that confidence plays a big role when it comes to this area of law. Earlier she used to feel pressurized when she had to do professional networking. Rose now feels comfortable participating in golf tournaments. Even the firm is doing great by hosting events where all the employees feel comfortable.
