Not all heroes wear capes – some of them are clad in coats and gloves with masks. Some favor being armed with patience, empathy, compassion, and understanding. Their strengths include providing comfort, easing pain, and healing bodies. The global pandemic, COVID-19, has undoubtedly called on these uncliched kinds of superheroes to emerge: the healthcare workers and medical frontliners, who, in most parts of the world, without much safety and security, continue to help curb and solve this crisis. One of them is Dr. Jay Feldman, who ponders on his journey, shares insights on his profession, and believes that being in medicine is a great privilege, especially amidst COVID-19.
Dr. Feldman is of the firm opinion that being a medical professional entails a great deal of responsibility. Being a medical professional enables you to heal people and save lives, which is indeed a privilege. With the pandemic putting so many lives at risk, Dr. Feldman is proud to be part of the medical fraternity. He added, “As a doctor, nurse, surgeon, or medical professional, we took an oath to do everything we can to save lives. COVID-19 is our battle, and it is an honor to be able to help make a difference.”
Dr. Feldman chose medicine because he wanted to do something selfless through his career. He believes that to bring about a substantial change in society; there has to be a collective paradigm shift. “When I opted for medicine, I was clear in my head that I wanted to make this world a better place. He believes that it all begins when each one of us, especially in positions like these, contribute towards the progress. Having realized the same, I decided to help people and the whole community through my talents as a medical professional. Everyone else needs to do their part, and that’s the only way we can beat the pandemic.
As the coronavirus outbreak continues to unravel, Dr. Feldman shares how demanding this line of work is. Whether a person works in a clinic, pharmacy, hospital, classroom, or laboratory, the rewards, and challenges of this journey are abundant. In the wake of lockdown worldwide, through his new-founded establishment, REX Fitness, Dr. Feldman is trying to help people improve their health and fitness by providing timely guidance and free live training with videos. In fact, through the means of his non-profit dedicated to fighting food inequality, Food Equality Corp., Dr. Feldman is supporting the unprivileged recipients of this appalling pandemic.
When speaking on what led him to this profession, Dr. Feldman said, “The thought of being a part of a profession that involved helping others irrespective of the circumstances is what drove me to a great extent. There’s no better satisfaction than focusing on facilitating everyone around to lead healthier and happier lives. I can’t think of a more fulfilling profession.”
Dr. Feldman shares, the medical professionals are for the patients – each one of them loves saving lives, and there’s no better time than now to do so!
