New York City is home to one of the hottest and most competitive music scenes in America. It’s hard to get noticed and recognized amongst the thousands of artists trying to make it in the area. But one artist that was able to defy the odds is Megan Diaz or professionally known as Megan Alyssa. Ever since Megan released her debut single back in February of 2019, her career has taken off.
Megan Alyssa is a 22-year-old singer, songwriter, and dancer that creates a unique style of Pop/R&B that has put her name on watch in the music industry. The talented artist has been influenced by music her entire life. She grew up singing and playing multiple instruments starting at the age of 3 years old. Megan Alyssa has continuously practiced and perfected her vocals and musical style through her childhood and high school years, but it wasn’t until college that she decided to pursue it fully.
Megan Alyssa dropped out of college at The University of Miami as a junior to focus on her music career. Shortly thereafter, in February of 2019, she released her debut single “Like That” which has surpassed over a quarter million streams on Spotify alone. Since then, the artist has only been on the rise, scoring collaborations with multi-platinum artist Rich The Kid, Blackway and Reefamusic. Her song “No Shame” featuring Rich The Kid has played on Sirius XM and landed on a billboard in Time Square. Huge accomplishments for an artist at any point their career, let alone someone that has made music professionally for only a year.
Just recently, Megan Alyssa released her first EP in March of 2020, titled “Hit My Line,” putting her true talent on display for her listeners and fans to love and enjoy. This is what Megan Alyssa had to say about new music coming up, “I have many songs that I’ve been sitting on that will hopefully be released very soon! I have also been invited to perform at Billboards headquarters in New York City. Recently, I collaborated with an Electronic Music Producer, JSTEF, on a song that I am so excited about. We actually don’t have a release date yet, but you can probably expect it this summer!” With Megan Alyssa’s enormous success already in the industry, she’s truly on a path to stardom.
