Based out of Vancouver, BC James Pak, professionally known as NyuKyung is a Hip-Hop artist known for his unique combination of fast flows, harmonies, and catchy melodies. The artist has taken many by storm in just his short time making music professionally. His most recent album, “Trap Harmonix,” debuted at #3 on the iTunes chart.
Often growing up, NyuKyung used music as a coping mechanism and a way to get his anger out from his rough childhood. Being Asian American, he was always made fun of, but that gave NyuKyung a chip on his shoulder to become something great. The new artist was a star football player in high school and was given a full ride to Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. He probably could’ve gone pro in Canada but decided to focus on his music career, something he’d been building since he was 8 years old.
In only his first year making professional music, NyuKyung has seen his fair share of success. Besides having his album chart in the top 3, he’s won multiple national awards and contests for his music and rapping skills. His music even has been featured in commercials and tv series. NyuKyung has shown great promise up to this point in his short career, and he’ll be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
NyuKyung is currently working on a rap EP that’s scheduled to be released sometime in October.
