Independent Rapper Donnie B good started releasing music in 2014 with a mixtape entitled First Impression and this year he will be dropping his 7th mixtape Cruise Control Volume 2. Though not currently working under a label, Donnie B has worked with a plethora of figures in the music industry to produce his music. Cash Jundi, G&B Productions, Puro Beats, D’Artiz, Decicco Beats, and Isacc Toman are just a few.
He revealed that there are two icons in the Rap industry that inspire him. First, “Lil Wayne inspires me from a pure music standpoint, that’s why I’m punchline heavy. I’m a Waynehead at heart. On the business side, I’d say Jay-Z because he makes major business moves”. Undoubtedly, the people he will reach also play a huge role in the motivation behind Donnie B Good’s work. “I want them to know that no matter how hard something is to achieve and how much it seems like you aren’t getting credit, or the process looks like it’s not working, keep grinding. It’s going to pay off”.
And Donnie B’s music has indeed connected with his audience. The drive keeps him going, along with his love for creating good music, is “the love from people I’ve never met in my life reaching out to me, telling me how they feel about my music. To know I’ve touched someone with something I wrote”.
