South Bronx, NY, is home to singer, songwriter, and rapper Kyy Stacks. For so many, music has become the escape from troubled areas and experiences, and Kyy can fully relate to this. She explained in an interview, “Where I come from, people resort to the illegal activities and vices that come with being in a low-income community in our society today. I decided to use my musical talents to create a clean path for my family to get out of poverty and tell my story at the same time.”
This story became the message in her music, and it has resonated with her audience. But the message is only as good as the music behind it, and Kyy Stacks has shown the skill to blend the two. According to Kyy, “I also want my audience to know that my music reflects the life that I have lived so far and whether you can relate to my life or not, I think the music speaks for itself as an art.”
The future seems to hold whatever Kyy Stacks can set her mind to, and along with the successes so far, her future is promising. Kyy revealed her vision and mission in a statement. “I’ve had plenty of success and opportunities through my career, but I think that this is just the beginning for me. While going on tour with a major label artist is definitely one of my successes, I don’t feel like I have achieved enough success until I am able to move my mom out of the hood.”
