This past year, VicBlends has made the biggest shift from a barber to an entrepreneur. He spent more time learning how to monetize his craft in ways other than a haircut.
The first idea that came to his mind was teaching, which he thinks is a great first step for barbers to start making more money for what they know and not what they can do. Why cut 1 person for $100 a haircut, when you can teach 50 people in a class on how to make $100 a haircut for $100 a ticket? Now one can make $5,000 in the same time it would take one to service one person… just some food for thought!
His original goal was just to learn how to cut so he can do it as a side hustle in the college dorms. God as a way of rewarding people that follow his path for them. He followed every sign he has given him, and continue to do so. He wants to continue to build their relationship because he believes they have so much more work to do for this world. He is definitely in awe at the position he’s placed him in.
An entrepreneur to VicBlends is somebody who’s up working 100 hours for themselves, to avoid working 40 hours for somebody else. He wants the opportunity to create the life he imagines to live. He doesn’t want to be limited to grow at the pace of what his boss thinks is right. Entrepreneurs are driven off of freedom, creativity, and ownership they have in following their dreams.
One of his main goals as an entrepreneur is to put other people in a position to win. He doesn’t believe in just working for his own pockets, he does this for the better good of his family, community, and world. He knows he will be so big one day, he’ll have all the resources possible to bring change to the people that need it the most. He’s doing as much as he can along the way now with what he does have.
Instagram has changed his life for better. VicBlends is popular on Social media in the whole picture, but Instagram was the first platform that he was able to thrive on.
