Hetvi Karia, a young digital marketer, owner of www.dailyquicknews.com and entrepreneur hailing from the city of Mumbai, the co-founder of the digital marketing company, “Team wizard media” speaks to Times of India on the possibilities of digital marketing. Excerpts from the conversation:
There has been a decline in economic growth due to the sudden pandemic that struck the world. How did that affect your firm?
Like any other company, we were quite terrified by the sudden pandemic and the lockdown that followed it. We had never guessed that we would have to face such a crisis suddenly. We weren’t prepared nor had we taken any precautions. We had lost some clients on the way. But, we believed in fate and decided to get our pending works done for the time being.
Do you think there has been a sudden surge in the number of people making use of online sales as the crisis extends?
Yes. As many of the small-scale businesses as well as huge marketing giants, were seen dwindling with resources and faced losses, there has been a flood of people towards online marketing and selling. This will be quite a turnover for digital marketers like us and we expect to have a rise in clients as the time goes on.
Did you make use of the sudden interest of people towards online promotions and marketing yet? If yes, how?
We have been using the sudden golden chance to our most. We have been trying to increase clients engagement through our websites, advertisements and promotions. We have also been trying our best to make the clients happy by catering to their requests and needs in the fastest ways possible along with improved quality of the content provided to them.
Did you adjust your personal life for advancements in your professional life?
This is the most important phase of my life and the early years of my youth. I know I shouldn’t exert much pressure on myself, as these days won’t be coming back to me again. But, I just have my eyes on achieving a name for myself, within a time span of 3 years. And nothing comes without hardwork. So, I couldn’t hold back from working towards achieving my goals. Most of the times, due to the demands of my work I had to refrain from being part of many important events in my personal life.
You came into the field of business at such a young age. What made you take up such a career at an early age?
I was always determined to do something different from the early years of my teenage. I saw the people around taking up comfortable jobs that offered an assured salary. They wanted to be in the comfort zone. I was more up to taking risks. That’s what made me happy. As I turned to digital marketing, I realised this was my go-to place. This was where I realised my potential was much needed.
What differences do you feel has the digital marketing field encountered before and after the pandemic?
Before the pandemic, the people had been so used to promoting their products outside that they never tried to explore the possibilities of marketing that online offered. But as the pandemic struck, they were left with no option but to turn towards online marketing and sale. This made the people realise that they can expand their sales and promote it in far more ways than they could ever imagine. They certainly profited more through online than in real life markets.
