With all success stories, there typically involves a short but rough path to getting to where they are now. Vanessa Donnelly is an entrepreneur from Minneapolis who is a current high-profile fashion designer and now moving into a new lane as a publicist. She is thriving and moving well but started out with struggles which has fueled her now success.
When Vanessa first started out with an ambition to become a seamstress, she didn’t know the first thing about sewing. In order to learn, she tried to reach out to established people in her industry for help but to no avail as people coldly ignored her. Soon after, Vanessa’s husband bought her a sewing machine and she began to teach herself.
After practicing daily with trial and error, Vanessa finally began to become proficient at sewing which got her consistent jobs in the fashion industry. As time went on, she eventually landed her first major placement with a celebrity which showed her that all of her efforts were worth it. When asking Vanessa today about how she got to where she’s at, she said, “I took a leap of faith and didn’t allow anyone to talk me out of it because that leap of faith was capable of opening so many more doors”.
Now Vanessa is involved with many other avenues and not just fashion design. She is currently also a successful publicist who is working in the music, entertainment, and fashion industry helping her clients grow their brand. With the current momentum Vanessa has paired with her perseverance, it will be interesting to see what the future has for this publicist seamstress.
