At the age of eight years old Semaj was introduced to his first musical instrument. He learned how to play the piano with his father’s guidance and used it as a base for his musical pursuits. His late mother was also an inspiration to him and always gave him motivation and confidence that his music could take him somewhere in life. In High School, Semaj began to do theater and rapped for fun on the side. Fast forward to today, and Semaj has established himself in the hip hop music industry and is looking to take his career to the next level.
This Bay Area, California native has been spending all of 2020 elevating himself and his music as a whole. With a ten-track album and a couple of singles here, it is clear to see that Semaj has been putting in some serious work. Semaj has big plans to use this momentum to his advantage and capitalize in 2021. He plans on releasing a new album titled “The Blue Door,” which will feature songs that are “wavy” and “groovy.” Semaj wants his fans to catch good vibes from his music, and he believes his new album will do just that.
With songs that give off good vibes, such as “Saturday” and “Lemonade,” Semaj has been able to land his name in some noteworthy places. He has been on TV, BET JAMS, and Iheart Radio. He and his team have set up their own LLC and brand “Feel Good Music” and have made all of these moves independently. Semaj knows what he and his team are capable of, and nothing is getting in their way.
Sleepless nights working on his craft will pay off in the long run for the young artist. The hip hop industry can be tough to navigate, but Semaj the Poet is doing it in the right way. Stay tuned as he plans to make big moves in the near future.
