Follow your dreams. When travel couple Domi and Frida met in high school, the couple both had a passion for traveling and dreamed about traveling together. They are one of the few couples who followed through and made a career out of this. Even after graduating and working full time, they still found time to travel and explore new cultures around the world together.
Wanting to keep friends and family updated on their travels, Domi and Frida started their Instagram profile in 2017. Initially, with no real intentions behind it other than to share their adventures with friends and family, they began posting travel content to their page regularly. Seemingly overnight, they began to notice real momentum with their page, shortly after they found it surpassing the 500,000 follower mark.
Despite being challenging for them at first, the couple began finding ways to monetize their content on Instagram and branch out to other social media platforms. The couple found themselves having trips paid for through collaborations with brands and hotels. Before long, they were both able to leave their 9 to 5 jobs and travel full time.
A massively important lesson that Domi and Frida try to teach through their experiences is this: Passion is the most important thing in a long-term project. If you start something thinking only of how much money you can earn, you will probably never earn anything from it. Monetization doesn’t come overnight, and not having a true passion for what you’re doing won’t keep you in it for the long haul.
Having a strong passion for what you’re doing is only one part of Domi and Frida’s success, they’ve still been willing to put in the work to make doing it for a living a reality. The couple has come a long way with their photography skills since starting, having studied countless hours on how to get the perfect shot. Eventually, they became incredibly skilled at capturing content and are now sharing it with their massive audience, for what is now becoming one of the most compelling travel pages on Instagram. Regardless of what the future holds for them and their career as travel influencers, Domi and Frida will never forget their passion for traveling and will continue to make it their mission to follow their dreams.
