Jordan Nancarrow, 24 years old, has starred in the well-known commercials of Amazon Alexa, T-Mobile, and recently popular Subaru TVC series. He is the face of Seattle’s Gameworks Arcade. As much as he loves the camera, the camera loves him too and that is the reason he has been working with Microsoft as a motivational speaker in London and Florida.
Nancarrow has been providing advice and guidance to the new crop of actors too. He has been sharing his experience by asking them to start where they are planted, their own city, and not move to LA immediately.
New actors build a reputation for themselves in their own cities first and then eventually move to the big city as they will have an advantage of people knowing them a bit. It will be easier to introduce themselves and gain work. The new actors need to be comfortable before the camera and should practice working before it.
For Jordan Nancarrow, acting is like having emotional freedom. He can go through various emotions in life and when the camera rolls he can just take tensions and emotions and spew them out in front of the camera. He finds this to be the best thing of his profession that pays him to be emotionally free.
Nancarrow says he wants people to remember him for what he inspired people to do. He wants to be so real on camera that the audience can feel the emotions right through and relate to him and his work.
Nancarrow’s best advice for all the actors will be to never compete with anyone and neither should one be jealous of peers. Everyone has their unique journey so there is no use competing with others. Rather one should compete with themselves. And once an audition is done, stop thinking about it and move on to the next one.
