The social media star joined us to share her business journey and advice for aspiring entrepreneurs
- Kay, thank you for joining us today for this brief interview. Your story seems to be quite unique and inspirational. Please share a bit about yourself with our readers.
Thank you for having me! Well to start, many of those who are familiar with me know me by my persona, “Future Ex-Wife, Kay.” I have been in the entertainment industry since I was 18 years old. Today, I’m an influencer with my own brand and business. I am proud of my business as I have spent many years building it to where it is now. It currently produces well-over six-figures, and I’m working on expanding it even further. I have found a niche online, and I have a strong connection to my community. I have many things in common with my fans such as my interest in comedy, art, video games, anime, and many other things, and it’s through these relatable things that I’m able to be build a deep connection. I really enjoy entertaining people, and I’ve actually begun creating comedy skits that I’ve been working on with other online figures. All in all, I just like to share my real personality with others and express my true self through my platform online.
- What motivated you to take a chance and pursue a risky entrepreneurial venture in the entertainment industry?
I noticed that there was a lot of potential in the entertainment industry, especially in the social media space. I had a particularly rough upbringing, and I would credit that experience with giving me the motivation to continuously strive to be better and achieve the best quality of life possible. Growing up, my father was never around, and my mother had various issues which ultimately led to me having little structure in life and a weak foundation. So yes, my past experiences have inspired me to work harder than ever to provide for my family and friends. I truly enjoy what I do, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to say that. I also feel blessed to be in a position where I’m able to contribute to support meaningful causes. I frequently donate to credible foundations to help support the fight against sex-trafficking and mental health. These are both issues that I’m passionate about and heavily involved with.
- What are you currently working on? Do you have some exciting plans in store that you are able to share?
As I briefly mentioned, I’m currently collaborating with other individuals on social media to create some fun new projects. These comedy skits will be available on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube in the near future. I’m also currently designing my own clothing and jewelry line- something I’m very excited about that I’ve always wanted to do. Of course, I’m constantly working on new pieces of art and experimenting with different mediums. That will never stop. I’m definitely looking forward to sharing all of these new projects with my fans as well as the rest of the world.
- Although you’re successful now, you mentioned that it wasn’t an easy road to arrive at your current position. What advice do you want to give to the many aspiring entrepreneurs reading this?
There are many things I would advise, as well as many things I believe you can only learn on your own. I would start with the fact that you should always listen to what others have to say, but don’t trust everyone. Many people, especially in the entertainment industry, are looking out for their own well-being and view you merely as a stepping-stone. You should always trust your gut and do your due diligence. Focus on your goals, and if you stray, get back on track as soon as you notice- don’t delay. The last thing I would say is that success isn’t a straight line. You will make a lot of mistakes, but you will learn from these mistakes throughout your journey. Making mistakes is an important part of growth, but it is essential to learn from those mistakes in order to propel towards your goals.
- Kay, thank you so much again for joining us today. Where can readers keep up with you online?
