It is not uncommon for creators to post workout videos, pictures, and workout routines that feature their superhuman bodies. The influencers often come across as superficial, only concerned with their physiques and exercises. This is far from the truth, as Mr. Austin Dotson is an obvious example.
Austin Dotson was born on October 17th, 1991 and is a digital creator and fitness influencer from Carson, California. As a child, Austin enjoyed sports. His favorite sport was football, which he played through high school. The tuition for undergraduate study was out of reach for him because his parents were struggling financially. In order to perfect his craft, Dotson spent his weekdays as well as weekends playing football. He soon became addicted to the game. By the end of high school, he was the recipient of multiple scholarships across the country. Sacramento State University was the next stop on his football career. After graduating, Dotson was not drafted by the NFL. It turned out to be a minor setback, however. He continued to strive toward becoming a professional football player despite rigorous training and networking. Dotson played in the arena league, a professional athletic league. Eventually, Dotson retired.
Former NFL prospect now involved in other activities after putting his dream of being a player to rest. During his first job, he worked for an insurance company for eight to twelve hours every day. It was after he stopped exercising and started drinking that his health deteriorated.
Shortly after, Dotson was arrested for a DUI on Christmas day. His football career had ended and he lacked the money to provide for his family or himself at that time because he had a daughter to take care of, her mother was sick, and he had no money for his own. In January of 2017, he fell into a major depressive episode. On that day, Dotson looked into the mirror and made the decision that he would become a better man. His life was forever changed on that day…
In the aftermath, Dotson stopped using tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. He was able to purchase a 24-hour fitness membership with the unemployment benefits he received. In his studies, he explored how to train, what to eat, and how to eat. After improved health, he became increasingly interested. He felt better both physically and mentally after he began training. Within a short time, Dotson had a new job as a behavioral therapist, which paid better than his old one and gave him more time off for training. Looking in the mirror again, he realized he was no longer the same person he saw six months ago, but someone completely different.
As an actor, Dotson has had appearances on two magazine covers, has been published in Men’s Health Magazine, receives national press releases, is featured in newspapers, and has a following of over half a million on social media. Dotson utilizes social media as a means to inspire others.
