Home to the likes of Eminem, Big Sean, Tee Grizzley, and countless others, Detroit has been a hub of rap music for decades. Looking to add his name to the list of successful, genre-changing rappers from the same city is up-and-comer Big Juicy.
Born and raised in the East Side of Detroit, Michigan, hip-hop artist Big Juicy cites his influences as rappers from all over the country, including Tupac and Travis Scott. However, Big Juicy holds true to his hometown, collaborating with many fellow Detroit artists, like rapper Justin Don and producer DJ Dot. These collaborations came to fruition after Big Juicy began freestyling at parties while attending Michigan State University. Since 2017, he has been working to overcome obstacles and constantly perfecting his craft.
“I work hard for my dreams. I have a plan, and nothing stops me.” Big Juicy said that he’s only getting a few hours of sleep every night now while he is working to make his best music to date. “My new music is truly in touch with myself as an artist,” continued Big Juicy. The album is expected to be out within the next three months, but the Detroit artist isn’t rushing anything, as he wants it to be perfect.
