1 How did you get your first start in music?
Well, I got my first start when I was young maybe six seven years old I used to sing songs for my aunties and my cousins . I always got good reactions when I sing and they used to always want me to come sing for their friends, so from there I started writing my own songs recording them listening to myself. I joined Salem Baptist Church youth choir in Chicago .I started recording in the studio and began rapping and started blending the two sounds together and it just took off from there.
2 Who inspires you to make music?
I can’t lie, I’m inspired by the greats. I know it sounds cliche but those are the ones that made me want to do this like Michael Jackson. His showmanship had me wanting to do the same things on stage. Like Beyonce, her work ethic, how she took her career in her own hands and gave me inspiration. Like Jay z how he was able to turn the circumstances in his life around to become arguably the greatest in hip hop that type of stuff gives me inspiration not just the music but the whole package
3 How would you describe the music you typically create?
Well for me it’s all about the beat that I get because I’m versatile so I can talk about any kind of subject so with that being said I’m able to tackle different topics and be myself on every track that I’m on so my music I call it the best of both worlds because I can get on whatever type of time you want
4 What’s your creative process like when you were recording your single I Get It?
Well when my producer sent it to me shout out to the homie Joe blow it was a different type of vibe so I wanted to approach the track with a different type of flow so for me I always start with my melody and I fill it in from there and when I put it together I came out with a sound and flow that I hadn’t heard before and that’s what I’m always looking to do. Try to create a lane that hasn’t been touched. I know ain’t nothing new under the sun but it’s still worth the try.
5 If you could open up for any artist in the industry, who would it be?
If it was one person that I would want to share the stage with it would have to be Jay z. Jay z was one of those people that I study the way he rap. The way he breathed on stage. The way he holds the mic. How Jay z can control a whole stadium by standing in one spot truly an MC moves the crowd Master ceremony real hip hop.
6 What’s one message you would give to your fans?
Well I don’t call them my fans. I call them my supporters. To all of you who have supported me from the very start through all my trials and tribulations. I just want to say thank you. I truly appreciate every stream, every view, every like and every comment. I just want you to know that this train ain’t stopping any time soon. When I get out here and touch these cities I’m going to make sure you understand how much you all mean to me.
7 What was some of the best advice you’ve ever been given?
It was the seven pees proper preparation prevents poor performance and that’s something I’ve learned to live by. The more you are prepared for stuff the easier it is to deal with it. So I always try to be properly prepared.
8 If you could change something about the industry, what would you change?
I don’t think I would change anything because that’s not the world we live in. You have to learn the game and figure out a way to win, that’s just life in general. I don’t even want to have my mind even thinking that if it wasn’t for this it’ll be that, naw this is what it’s supposed to be so I’m going to make it work for me.
9 How has it been working with your management, the networking Queen and your label stackin up entertainment and its64boy?
Oh wow it’s been amazing when I first met my management the networking Queen. She asked me what did I want to do and I explained to her what I wanted to accomplish and from that very moment she start giving me the tools that I needed to reach my goals. I’m so blessed to have someone like her in my corner. When I met its64boy it was the same thing. He was a fan of mine already and I was a fan of what he was doing .So once we met it was mutual respect .We started working and putting everything together in such a dope way so it has been amazing working with them both and we just getting started we are truly going to address the culture.
