It’s common to learn of experienced company owners who took on a decades-old chain and turned it into something modern, founders who used the capital they made from a prior venture to create a flourishing new startup, or individuals who raised thousands of dollars to kickstart their entrepreneurial ventures. These tales are an inspiration in their own terms, but reading about individuals who started with zero is far more inspiring.
Christopher Brooks, a 23-year-old Texas-born lad, is one of those entrepreneurs who started their entrepreneurial ventures from scratch – without money and support – but were nevertheless able to make huge achievements against the odds. How did he pull off those incredible accomplishments, and what lessons can the younger generation take away from him?
Successful leaders have a proclivity for making money early in life. In the same cosmic consciousness – the drive to make money – Christopher decided to take on the task of kickstarting his independent business because he realized that if he were to focus on anyone else’s work for his bread and butter, his GREAT destiny to live a lifestyle of millionaires would be shattered.
Christopher’s life took a turn, albeit for the better, when his degree in “welding” from the Tulsa Welding School came apart at the seams due to abortive attempts in pursuing a career as a local welder in his town. In the middle of nowhere and possessing little except his ambition to succeed in life being financially independent, the teen literally had his crosses to bear.
But the mindset “I am meant to stand out”, and “Stay focused when you feel like nothing is going your way” was something that barely helped him keep his head above water.
His goals kept him onward and upward when all he could see was not even a chinaman’s chance. He was well aware that these trials and tribulations were not pleasant company, but he accepted them. These uphill battles are going to be a part of his success tale. This is a necessary component. He looked at the bumpy rides as an ascending stairway. The more elevation you gain, the more challenging the climb becomes. The positive thing is that you’re working your way to the peak as well!
“I knew I have to be patient because not everyone is used to jumping into being their own boss,” says the 1997-born entrepreneur.
Having the ethos of a business magnate since childhood, the Texian didn’t get to the end of his tether. He learned network marketing, instead. It later landed him a job in Amazon. Since he knew he is not destined to faff around the 9-to-5 job forever, he considered this job as an opportunity to traverse through the steep learning curve of making money online just to later launch his own entrepreneurial venture.
As a result, he decided to merge the value of early hustles with the learnings to become a network marketing industry pioneer. The ambitious aspiring entrepreneur took risks in the hopes of either winning it or gaining a fresh learning opportunity.
He bid farewell to those stable monthly paychecks from Amazon and invested everything he had in a hypothetically lucrative enterprise. It was a tough pill to swallow, but Christopher knew that if he wasn’t to take a risk, he won’t be able to get out of the 9-to-5 loop and that unexpected rewards come from risk-taking.
Any entrepreneur, regardless of their degree of expertise, is bound to encounter unforeseen roadblocks. It was the same for Christopher. Thankfully, his favorite personality Elon Musk’s inspiring quotations were there to help him in his darkest hours.
“I knew I had to not depend on a job for my whole life and that I have to get really uncomfortable to live comfortably,” says the Tulsa Welding School graduate.
