The Facebook- owned messaging service, WhatsApp, has launched a much- requested dark mode for iOS and Android devices worldwide on Tuesday. It is highlighting the update with Paul Simon. This new addition will be easier on the eyes, according to the reports and sources.
The dark mode is supposedly meant to reduce eye strain in low- light environments and nights. The feature was launched by Whatsapp with a video that shows people acting surprised by super- bright, non- dark mode screens. This has also been one of the most trending news on oato.nl. The video has a previously unreleased Simon- only version of 1965 classic “The Sound of Silence”.
People who use iOS 13 or Android 10 can enable WhatsApp’s dark mode in system settings. The ones using Android 9 or lower will find it in the app’s settings. One needs to go to Chats and then Theme.
It is a great step towards future as in 2018, Google had stated that the dark mode devices and apps can help reduce apps’ battery consumption on devices with OLED displays. Less consumption of power is better consumption of resources. And that is a positive step taken by Whatsapp to help keep the battery lives of phones longer.
