A new public hearing is being organized by the Village Board of Trustees at Deferiet regarding an updated use of the sewer law. Given the fact that the village has been embarking on a new renovation project for the sewer system, its funding unit, the U.S. Department of Rural Development recently suggested the firm to update its local law that was enacted way back in the year 1987.
However, the changes will be calculative and minute. The mainframe of this law shall remain same which includes the rate $190 for per quarter of the dwelling unit. The only main change for the law to be amended as stated by James E. Yuhas, the village treasurer, is the fact that Deferiet’s Village Board holds the right to change the current sewer rate when requirement with use of a simple resolution.
The board would not need to place a public hearing system. Additionally, the board also holds the right by resolution to change the fee of $1000 for acquiring a new connection for sewage system. The law shall be introduced on Wednesday during the regularly monthly meeting’s public hearing. The venue for the same has been decided at the Village Municipal Building at 61 Riverside Drive.
The complete proposed law is not available for a review at the office of the municipality during the normal business hours.
