From CEO to Celebrity Dj To The Stars
There are many artists that come and go. Few are able to consistently stick to what they committed to from day one. Fabrejay is an example of perseverance, dedication and talent. From editing tapes and selling them to his peers at the tender age of 8 years old to promoting his first night club party at only 15 years old later becoming an established celebrity dj for influencers and major brands across the globe and now launching his very own Kure Music Group.
Fabrejay’s list of clients is quite an impressive one. The dj, producer, artist and CEO has performed for acts like potus Barack Obama, The Jonás Brothers, Rihanna, Kevin Hart, as well as high profile events like Nyc Fashion week and brands like H&M, Sephora, Willow, Puma, D’usse, Ciroc and more!
We recently got a hold of the busy and very private dj and were able to get a quick q&a from him.
How did you start deejaying ?
I started editing music cassette tapes and selling them to my peers in grammar school when I was 8 years old. You can say this would be my introduction to the dj world. Fast forward to 11 years old. A classmate offered to trade a pair of belt driven technics turntables he held as collateral for a pair of sneakers I owned, if the turntables owner never returned. A few weeks later we ended up making the trade. I’ve been djing since.
What inspired you to become a DJ?
Besides coming from a musically inclined family, listening to mixtapes and on-air disc jockeys like Funkmaster Flex. Scratching and Mixing one song to another was intriguing to me. It made me want to try it for myself.
What do you hope your listeners take away from your set?
Hopefully, great vibes and musical knowledge. I’ve spent a vast amount of my life studying music. Passing on any of that acquired knowledge along with helping you distress through good music and a positive vibe is a successful set for me.
What’s next for FabreJay?
I’m not one for spoilers but here’s an exclusive! Music of my own is a possibility in this upcoming year. I don’t want to rush it but I’m definitely entertaining the idea, which was not the case previously. Make sure to follow me on social media for any updates.
We will be sure to update you when Jay-Z’s 40/40 DJ Fabrejay does. Stay tuned.
