Like many artists, a musical upbringing played a large role in the formation of Josh Bishop’s career. He revealed in a personal interview, “I always grew up loving music. Whether it was Celine Dion that my mom was listening to, or my dad’s 80’s rock/metal. I always knew I had an ear for music from a young age, and it was only a matter of time before I tried making some myself.”
This led to Bishop starting to produce his own music after high school graduation at the age of 18 under the name COBRA. Now, at the age of 22 Bishop has amassed over 30 million views on his productions, over 97k subscribers to his YouTube channel, and his recent work with fellow artist “Shaker” has surpassed over 1 million Spotify streams and 5 million views on YouTube.
Finally, Bishop spoke on the challenges facing artists like himself. “I think the main challenges of being an artist are worrying too much what other people think. Once you let go of that, everything comes easy and you create everything for yourself rather than to please other people”.
COBRA.’s new music is set to release near the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021.
