“It’s all Psychological but it works for sure”
There comes a time when you feel all alone, where no one bar yourself can see the bright streak of light that shines ahead for you. It is in those desperate times that a man falls victim to surrendering all his efforts, hard work, and determination. But this was not what David Imonitie did at his hour of strife and struggle. As explained by David, moving to America is a big dream come true for most third world country nationals, but it surely comes with a lot of attached hardship.
During the start of his entrepreneurship journey, David would often sleep in his car as he could not afford a place to stay, due to his financial difficulties. He told us about the times where his car would break down in the middle of the road, as he did not have enough cash for gas. His first business ventures also did not go to plan and at one point he applied to join the army as he did not know what else to do with his life. David’s eye saw all those low times, as well as today’s success, where he is an inspiration and role model for hundreds of thousands around the globe. Looking back at all those harsh days, one can get a great deal of motivation to move ahead in their life without taking rejections to heart.
David manifested having millions of dollars one day. Although it may sound irrational to some folks, it is the most effective way of keeping your mind and heart motivated. Once you can visualize your success, you can easily achieve it. This was David’s belief throughout his life. Speaking of belief, after earning a fortune from his businesses, David has established a home trust organization, iBelieve Foundation. The purpose of this organization is to support the deprived and neglected communities in Africa and provide them with basic life necessities like health, electricity, clothes, and education. The true character of a person is revealed when he or she is blessed with wealth and worldly possessions. As a multi-millionaire, David spends a minimum of 10% of his income on charity every month. Remembering “your cause”, is also perhaps one of the lessons to be learned here.
In his dark times, David used to visualize the 5-dollar bill on his bathroom mirror as 5 million dollars, which elicited his motivation for success every time he saw it. David has had many ups and down across his years as an entrepreneur, but instead of being disappointed in those dark times, he kept pushing harder than before. The zeal, enthusiasm, and faith in yourself are all it takes to make yourself prosperous in the long run.
From the story of David Imonitie, it is quite clear that success is not like a poker game, where you can just gamble for an instant and hope luck will be by your side. It is not as easy as to roll some dice and leave the casino with millions of dollars in your pocket. Rather, success is the result of persistence, routine, and discipline. David kept moving forward no matter what circumstances he was facing at that time. Today’s entrepreneurs need to learn the lesson, that at first you must invest in yourself and your business constantly before even expecting any return from it. Investing finance, time, and work repeatedly. The world works on the fundamental principle of give and take; although this term is a cliché, it still holds true for all spheres of life.
