Some fall when faced with tragedy. Others, like Joel Aguilar, AKA Lil Mexico HOV, used a tragedy as motivation to make something out of nothing. Growing up with near nothing and moving to the United States in search of a better life, Lil Mexico HOV had it tough from the beginning. Separated from his single mother and getting caught up in the life of the streets, Lil Mexico HOV turned to his brother Richard for support. Together, the two built a studio, and created for themselves a passion for music.
Richard had helped Lil Mexico HOV realize his rapping potential, and the two started creating a roster of music releases. Just when Lil Mexico HOV thought things were going well, tragedy struck, and his brother Richard ended up being victim to a horrible murder. Crushed, Lil Mexico HOV turned to music as a coping mechanism. Inspired by the memory of his brother, Lil Mexico HOV began crafting his unique sound.
Improving his style, flow, and language, Lil Mexico HOV stuck to his Latin roots and created a sound unique to him. He released his first EP “My Life”, which was dedicated to his brother, at the end of 2017. After receiving great praise for his music, Lil Mexico HOV would go on to release another two EPs and a handful of singles. Teaming up with other Latin artists to form WOLFPACK, HOV and crew promise to release a single and music video on a monthly basis in 2020.
