The first child of his family born in Huntington, NY, Quinton Heck isn’t unlike most of us. Quinton credits his upbringing for his business success, and credits his parents as the driving force of his entrepreneurial spirit. Growing up, Quinton became proficient in many things like music, sports and academics. These proficiencies would translate into a new passion for Quinton, and that was business.
First son to a working class family, Quinton’s parents made sure he understood the value of money, and nothing was handed to him to show the value of earning things. In all of his ventures, Quinton would learn that paying his dues meant persistence, practice and dedication. This created a tight knit family environment that Quinton credits with being a fertile ground of support that embraced the finer sides of weird, fun and crazy. These achievements would manifest themselves at Canton Central Catholic High School in Canton, OH, where Quinton would play Football, Basketball and Baseball for all years, winning a state title with his football Team his senior year.
As High school came and went, Quinton was scouted by many schools, but eventually chose to attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy. During this time, he fell in love with entrepreneurship and put action behind his curiosity. After researching multiple ventures, he launched an ecommerce business and learned quickly how challenging running a business can be. While the initial venture failed, he gained valuable experience and is now ready to put his experience to use with his own media agency.
Quinton’s journey is proof that the only starting place as an entrepreneur is failure. It’s something that must be embraced and mastered. Although he faced setbacks, his mindset around failure and his ability to persist regardless of the challenges he’s faced has him ready to scale his new agency to six figures and beyond.
Quinton learned that the one thing many entrepreneurs experience once they’re successful is that the people who doubt you often become your biggest supporters. While it may come off as a sign of disrespect, Quinton’s been happy to teach these people his success habits and have them follow him along his journey. Based on his progress and success as a young entrepreneur, it would be wise of anyone looking to get into the entrepreneurial space use Quinton’s journey as a road map.
