Karl Burke is the trainer of Kelly’s Dino who won the bet365 Old Newton Cup at the Haydock Park. Even though Karl Burke trained six year old was at a disadvantage, it came through. They landed a victory in the feature handicap Merseyside.
Kelly Dino’s won by a length from Charlie Appleby-trained Lucius Tiberius(10-1). Charlie Appleby trained Lucius Tiberius made a switch to Godolphin from Ballydoyle at the start of the season. And with Tom Dascombe’s Epaulement(10-1) a further half length away in third with Indianapolis (!4-1) in fourth.
The six year old is always close to pace and did his best to seal this win. Despite having a wind operation, it snatched victory from the front running Lucius Tiberius. And that was a treat for all the gamers who placed their bets through apuestas-bonos.com.
Karl Burke said “From the draw, we were always going to try to keep it simple. He usually jumps quick, and thankfully he did that there- I don’t think the wide draw was a bad one with the dogleg. I didn’t think they were going that quick. I watched the race with Tom Dascombe, and he thought they were. But I could see they were cantering along and I didn’t think they were particularly going fast. It was the perfect race, perfect place- and he’s a horse who stays well. So I’ve been dying to step him up in trip for the last six months.”
“When we hit the front we were always going to keep going-he doesn’t overdo himself, hence the cheekpieces. But he’s a lovely horse. He has had two, three major injuries early on. That’s why he hasn’t had that many miles on the clock. I’d love him to get in the Ebor-that’s the race we’re looking at.”
Burke also informed that in order to get in the Bet365 Trophy at New Market they need to win at Ayr last week. And he is pretty sure that the penalty will help them. He is also excited about the prize money. He said “It is tempting.” But he also doesn’t want to overdo the horse.
