Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, rising hip hop phenomenon Turban Rocket started rapping at the young age of 12. He soon discovered that his initial output was not as well received as party-oriented cloud rap, so he switched angles and scored a pair of local underground hits. Rocket began working on music at home, sharing it through online networks, and finding himself fully immersed in the world of recording and performance by the end of his teens.
Each release sees Turban Rocket expanding on his style, moving from the dark throwback sounds of earlier works into new territories and ultimately becoming one of the most important and original underground artists’ paving the way for many successful independent artists’ careers today. He is one of the most buzzing artists in the hip-hop world.
Continuing his rampage through the Lexting drill scene, the city’s top dog drops the music video for “Not Typin’ / Cotton Candy.” He took two one-of-a-kind beats, and his signature lyrical flair and cooked up another track for everyone’s summer playlist. Watch the video below.
