Lindsay Barrz is a self-taught hip-hop artist from Northern New Jersey. She has been a percussionist since the 4th grade, where she first learned how to keep a beat. Barrz wrote her first 16 when she was 16 after a wrenching heart break, and so, her poetic skills turned into rap skills from that day on. Her first single, ‘The Last Visit,’ created a buzz amongst friends, family, and acquaintances, coming as a surprise and throwing a wrench in the stereotypical cogwheel.
She has now performed on various occasions and she attests that it is always a feeling like no other. “I usually experience some pre-performance jitters and slightly uncontrollable nerves, however once I step up on stage, the nervous energy converts to excitement and drive to kill my performance. When I’m on stage, it is never dull. The remarks I usually hear from the crowd are encouraging.” She says.
Lindsay Barrz would rather network and create lasting relationships than squander an opportunity over money. Lindsay’s influences include early Drake, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, KB, Eminem, MGK and more. Music, athletics, creative writing, and massage therapy are a few hobbies and fortes of Ms. Barrz. The perfectionist that she is, Lindsay goes H.A.M at everything she does. Her goals include incurring a worldwide fan base, moving out to LA, making music with the artists that influenced her, and taking care of her family and friends. In March of 2018, the influence of Jesus changed her forever after her near-life-long struggle. Lindsay Barrz’ mission is to pass on her strength and wisdom to others through her heartfelt music to which she pours her soul into.
Lindsay Barrz would love to open a show for Eminem, Zauntee or MKG because she feels like their fan base would take a liking to her as an artist and in regards to her style. “Our backgrounds and song topics have many similarities.” She adds.
In an interview, Lindsay says that she is a work in progress. She has constantly been working on a massive music video dropping this October. “I have a high budget music video coming out at the end of October, accompanying my single, “Persona Non Grata”. I’m collaborating with all new artists as of this year. For me, that is going out on a limb because I don’t typically trust people to come through on deadlines.” She says.
