On Tuesday, the Republicans from House Judiciary Committee released 100s of pages in transcripts for the closed-door interview last year consisting of interview with Lisa Page, the ex-FBI attorney. These transcripts revealed latest details with regards to the controversial discussions by the bureau with regards to “Insurance Policy” countering the presidential candidate Donald Trump prior to being elected.
Page became a part of the spotlight back in December 2017. This was when the Inspector General for the Justice Department revealed that she along with Peter Strzok, ex-FBI Special Agent exchanged numerous text messages that were anti-Trump. These two were the part of FBI’s initial investigation for Russian meddling & any potential collusion revealed with the associates for Trump campaign whilst the 2016 Elections were being carried out.
The duo later served as a part of the team for Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Among these so-called text messages was the concerned “insurance policy”. During the interview organized by the Juidiciary Committee on July 2018, she was question all about the text. Post interview, the lawmakers stated that Lisa Page was completely credible and cooperative during the investigation that ran for 5 hours in a closed-door session.
