Southern California, specifically Los Angeles and its surrounding area is home to one of the more unique and prominent hip hop/rap scenes around. Countless labels and accomplished artists like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and many other stars call Los Angeles home. The amateur hip hop/rap game in Southern California is competitive as ever. But an artist that is thriving is Kobey Castillo better known by the stage name Schleepyk.
Kobey was born in Whittier, California and eventually moved to the Inland Empire area where he went to high school. Growing up, music was everything for Kobey. At 14 years old, he began messing around, writing his own lyrics and recording and producing his own songs, Schleepyk was born. In doing so he started to build a following in high school. Many encouraged him to continue, giving Kobey confidence to pursue music as a career.
Ever since, Kobey has been perfecting his craft as an independent artist, gaining more and more of a following. Look for that to continue as Schleepyk releases more and more hits. Schleepyk is sitting on a 10 song project that could be released at any moment and multiple singles. Currently has a single, “Spending a lot” , scheduled to release on all platforms May 1st with numerous others to follow.
