Chinnabanchorn Incantations are popular Buddhist Incantations or prayers that are being used by people to protect themselves from dangers they face in daily life. It is an ancient Incantation that was composed of Thera in the Northern Lanna Kingdom of Thailand. In Old times it was used as a chant for exorcism in the court of Ayutthaya. The incantation was made complete by Chao Phrakhun Somdej Phra Putthachan (Topharah Maisi).
The history of the incantation is something like this – one of the Kings of Ceylon faced trouble when one of his children was cursed to being struck by lightning. After the Royal Astrologer predicted it, many disciples came together to create a magical shield that would protect royal children.
Disciples of the court researched 28 Buddha’s past Buddha images and 9 Dharma teachings, as well as the merit of the Arahan to create a magical shield. Monks read the chants.
They planned to divide the duties of the monks. So, the first chapter was read in the location, which is located in Phra Maha Prasat Lanka, 7th floor, near the area called ‘Benchon chimney.’ That’s the reason the incantation is called Chai Banchorn.
Chinnabanchorn (ชินบัญชร) is a powerful Incantation for anyone who prays every day. It is most effective when done with a heart of mercy. This chant can protect you from dangers, and keep you safe throughout your life.
The spell is mostly used to protect oneself from the evil and dangers that come into daily life. Monks and disciples, as well as people who pray every day, need to practice this to make themselves good and kind. It can’t be used to harm others or bring others down.
