Popular businesswoman and TV personality Martha Stewart has been tapped by major Canadian marijuana producer Canopy Growth to play the role of an advisor in the creation of a new lineup of cannabis-derived products.
Marijuana companies across Canada, including Canopy Growth, have earned a lot of success and revenue from their line of marijuana based products since the time Canada legalized the use of recreational marijuana in the year 2018.
The collaboration between Canopy Growth and Stewart’s Sequential Brands Group, which was announced on Thursday, will initially focus on offering the consumers sensible products meant for their pets.
Bruce Linton, co-CEO, Canopy Growth said in a statement that the company hopes to take the help of Stewart’s expertise as well as experience in exploring cannabis-derived cannabidiol (CBD) to create products for both humans as well animals. Stewart will be playing an advisory role while the company creates the new lineup pertaining to animal health products.
Apart from this, Canopy Growth also announced about its plans of investing about $100-$150 million in the development of a cannabis industrial park in NYC.
Notably, Stewart is not the first celeb to have partnered with the company. Canopy Growth’s subsidiary brand, Tweed has previously collaborated with rapper and renowned marijuana connoisseur Snoop Dogg back in the year 2016.
