New Jersey based singer and songwriter Jules Laozada, better known as Pure Skies, has amassed over 60 thousand followers on Instagram to date. The rise to stardom didn’t happen overnight as the creative has been actively releasing song covers since 2013. Skies’ initial audience came off an app called “Smule Karaoke”. Initially afraid of judgement, Pure Skies released music under his online alias to avoid being recognized for his talent.
Pure Skies started posting cover on Soundcloud shortly after going live as an artist. He’s amassed over 3 million streams to date on the platform and has started getting invites to perform at local shows. Most notably, Skies opened to Grammy award winning artist Rick Derringer and has performed at the Sound Of Brazil in New York City.
Aside from releasing music on all streaming platforms, Skies has been working hard to build his Instagram following. Lately, the artist has been posting more live covers of popular songs. Skies has recently covered “Anyone” by Justin Bieber, and “Happy Now” by Zedd.
Skies recently also released a 10-song album called “Swimming With Dolphins” which is available now on all platforms. The release marks Pure Skies’ first full-length project drop and showcases more of what he has been working on sonically.
