Excited about his upcoming movie featuring music icon Akon, famous producer, and entrepreneur Anas Dipsawi discusses his latest production titled “Musical.”
Speaking about the movie, he says, “The film is a musical comedy starring Akon in the lead. We are thrilled to have the legendary rapper on board along with the renowned Saudi actor known for his comic talent, Nasser Al-Qasabi. The production is underway, and we expect to wrap up towards the end of 2020.”
The Senegalese-American singer and songwriter was born to a Muslim family in 1973. Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, better known as Akon, emerged as a rising star on the hip hop scene with his single “Locked Up” in 2004 and soon rose to prominence with the release of his album, Trouble. His popularity soared following the release of his hit albums Konvicted (2006) and Freedom (2008). He has also acted in the movies Black November (2012), American heist (2014), and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016).
“Akon is one of the highly celebrated music personalities in the Arab world and has headlined concerts held in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It’s great to work with such an icon,” stated Anas Dipsawi.
Anas shared that he’s looking forward to completing the production of “Musical” and is hopeful that the audiences will love their favorite star along with the rest of the ensemble once the movie releases.
