When did you start taking music seriously?
I started rapping in middle school, I was natural and would get appreciated by a lot of my friends back then and as I kept practicing, I kept getting better at it which made me confident enough to participate in the battle raps and I was pretty dominant there as well. I was sure I want to pursue music and rap as my career but it wasn’t until recently that I officially released my first music video.
What inspired you to choose this genre of music?
My parents came to the United States from Bangladesh and they worked hard put food on our table. The hardships we faced always motivated me to go beyond my limits because there was nothing that we could lose and then, the neighborhood I grew up in had an amazing Hip-hop scene growing up which is why I chose this genre of music.
What is your regular day like?
Like any other artist, I too wake up inspired and ready to make something meaningful out of my day. I believe inspirations are everywhere. You just have to look around, get inspired, and then, develop your own style to create something that would have your stamp on it. My every day is dedicated to music and rap i.e., songwriting, singing, and practicing my lyrics on the beats. I also make sure to invest my time into things that make me “me”. I am from Bangladesh and so, I love to mix some of my style and culture from that part of the world which isn’t anything like this world but much more vibrant and beautiful.
Is there anybody you idolize and look up to in the industry, as a singer?
I do not idolize anyone but I love listening to many rappers and singers. I listen to both old school and new school artists. I also like to listen to the R&B genre of music and I love them all. I don’t want to take any name in particular but I like both mainstream and underground artists.
What would your dream collaboration be like and with whom?
I would love to collaborate with The Weeknd, Lil Baby, Drake, Bangladeshi Folk Bands, J Cole and others. I think my unique style will match their vibe because all of them have brought some kind of change to the music industry.
Which is the latest song that you’ve heard and are listening to on a loop?
I liked the recent Drake album irrespective of its popularity because now he’s just reached that feat that he could do anything and experiment with his music.
What are your plans for your upcoming projects?
I am looking forward to releasing new music for myfans. I have so many types of songs in my store and I am positive that my fans will love those songs which have their own personas, in a true Smoove desi style. Follow me on my socials and you will be updated with the new releases.
