The University of Dundee in the UK carried out a research on vaping and found very noticeable results. The research has found that long term smokers can improve vascular health within a month after vaping adoption. The vascular health could be equal for a non-smoker person. The researchers found the blood vessel function of vapers increased by 1.5 percentage within four weeks as compared to the smokers.
The researchers have also emphasized on conducting more researches for better results. Research also found that if the improvement due to vaping remains for a long time then cardiovascular disease can be reduced up to 13 percent.
The study was carried out on 114 adults who had been smoking around 15 cigarettes daily for two years. Those adults were free from any cardiovascular disease. 40 adults kept smoking cigarettes while 37 adopted e-cigarettes with nicotine and 37 adopted e-cigarettes without nicotine. The adults were allowed to continue for four weeks with their own interests of either vaping or smoking. Many of them were made the decision to go for vape juices from here.
After four weeks, the researchers conducted a Flow Mediated Dilation (FMD) test to measure a change in blood vessel function. One more test was carried out to measure the blood vessels’ stiffness. Finally, the results came and it was found that the adults who switched to e-cigarettes experienced 1.49 percent improvement in vascular function as compared to the group of smokers.
Non-smokers get the FMD score of 7.7 percent. Vapers who continued for one month got increment in FMD score, about 6.7 percent. It shows, smokers who switch to vaping can get FMD of a healthy non-smoker in a month.
