Every person is an ordinary human being, but there are some people who influence others because they live an ordinary life in an extraordinary way. These people are and will be remembered beyond the course of their lives.
When given difficulties in life, we can do one of two things: let those difficulties take control, or take proactive approach to turn those difficulties into lessons that we can learn from. Our pain can become our strength. With the right mindset, any negative situation can be made positive and Rudy Bundini does just that.
Rudy Bundini was born on May 28th, 1987 in Basel Switzerland to an upper class, well educated family, but an unfortunate turn of events took a toll on the quality of life for him and his family and forced them from their comfortable standard of living to a life in poverty.
They moved into a 100 square foot storage facility, one similar to a garage with a metal rolling shutter door, which had no air conditioning or even bathroom inside.
It taught him a lesson of appreciation; to be thankful for everything always, no matter how big or small, and to live in the moment because life can change in a single second.
With hard work and dedication, he persevered to become a boxing heavyweight champion, and is now considered to be one of the most successful male models in the history. however his trials were not over.
When he first moved to New York a few years ago, Rudy would walk from work in midtown Manhattan to his Washington Heights apartment (approximately 7 miles) every day just to save the $2.50 subway fare each way, which totaled a savings of $150 a month, which was a necessary sacrifice if he wanted to make life work in the “City of Dreams.”
Rudy is not only a dreamer, but a go-getter. This ordinary man by societies standards has influenced thousands of people through his ideas and dreams that are standing as his reality today.
He built his empire of success and fame “ex nihilo,” which in latin literally means “out of nothing,” like from where he began.
Among Rudy’s accomplishments he has been the face of Versace, Armani, Puma, Calvin Klein, Hennessy, Phillip Plein, Roger Dubuis, and it wasn’t long ago when his Nike commercial went viral with millions of views. This September 2019 he walked in New York Fashion Week, SS2020 for Adrian Alicea and Ron Tomson, as the headliner celebrity model.
Rudy, who has seen and experienced both the good and bad sides of life, chooses to wake up everyday with an optimistic mindset; to take on the world and leave it a more positive place than how he found it. He expressed in a press conference his positive views, “My life mission is to leave an optimistic imprint on as many people as possible to create a positive ripple effect long after I’m gone.”
Rudy Bundini’s story, the self-made supermodel who made his life ex nihilo, is truly an inspiration and can be a life lesson for all of us.
