A music industry pro who has worked with the likes of hip hop artists Future, 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, T-Pain, and more, Cody Patrick has now joined the A&R team of Asylum Records. He will be using his expertise to develop a new crop of artists through the company.
He also has his own agency called Organic Music Marketing that’s known for digital marketing, promotion, and video production.
Cody Patrick has shared that with Asylum records he is keen to research and discover new artists. He will also be part of agreement making, overseeing the recording process and some administrative work like organizing audio files for release. He is confident that he will be getting a fresh ear and eye to the tables for the music label.
The music industry pro is known for his keen eye that recognizes talent early. He agrees to the fact and says, “I have a true ear for hit records”. He shares that when he listens to any record he thinks about it from the perspective of an audience and does not let his personal taste in music or his personal thoughts on the artist bother him. He makes a point of view only on the basis of the music alone.
Patrick is listening to music all the time which he says helps him gain knowledge about music and also develop insight. His personal favorite, outside his work, are the old hits from 2000’s playlist. He prefers listening to the Top 100 of the year 2000. But he has no barriers to listening to music. He is listening to something or the other all the time no ,matter where he is or what he is doing.
