KriSean Jaivonta Woods, also known as KriSean Woods, was 7 when he started performing on stage. His love for R&B and hip-hop was growing immensely. Born in Rome, Georgia, KriSean moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where he was raised and spent most of his childhood. Woods later moved back home to Atlanta, GA, for the sake of his budding music/acting career.
The Rise
Woods began working on his project. No one ever envisioned that his first feature with legendary Star Search Tiffany Evans would come out so fast. It was in late 2020 when everything began to change. Finally, Woods was on a pilgrimage to greatness. The immense support from family and friends was like fuel to him, continually pushing him to the next level. Laying mischievously innocent romantic lyrics over R&B grooves richly reverent of soul’s rich history, you can only expect more from KriSean Woods.
KriSean is currently an independent artist who possesses a quality of sound that denotes universal appeal and versatility. His work, “Energy,” is a smooth, dreamy new mid-tempo R&b bop that fans love. Consequently, he released his latest single on Feb 12, 2021, titled “Rendezvous.” He is currently working on a third release that he is excited about.

Lessons To Learn
- Don’t Be Driven By Money Or Fame
Most artists are indeed either driven by money or fame. However, that is not the case with KriSean. A passion for inspiring others drives KriSean. He advises others that if it is something you love doing, fame or money will not lead you.
- Start Your Stuff Early
If you are planning to do something and are in the capacity to do it, it would help if you started early. Woods wishes he could go back in time and do more in his music. However, he is optimistic about the future. Therefore even if you haven’t begun, it is not yet late to start. You can still start to and make significant steps in building your career. Always be positive in your journey towards success.
- Don’t Limit Yourself
Despite KriSean being passionate about hip-hop and R&B, he is not confined to one particular box. He keeps trying different things in the industry. He is expanding his knowledge of reggae and dancehall rhythms.
Therefore, if you want to hit new levels in the industry, work with those who have already succeeded, be driven by passion rather than money or fame, start your stuff because success loves speed, and don’t limit yourself.
