Establishing a career as a musician is very hard. Especially if you don’t have someone to show you the ropes. A trend has started where independent artists are hung out to dry because they lack the knowledge and skills to better themselves in the business world. With over 1 million streams per day you can be the most talented musician in the world and still never get heard. Christian Anderson also known as the artist celebrity artist Trust’N is trying to change that very trend.
Growing up as an artist Christian never had a manager to help him. He told us: “I was pretty much doing my thing alone. Even with the people I collaborated with. None of us had any idea what we were doing. We would maybe send an email here or there and hope to get some coverage….We would usually fail.” As Christian got more experience in the industry he started to see how the music business world worked. He recalls those early moments when he said, “I remember just realizing how no else was going to take care of me or show me the ropes. I knew I had to do everything myself. So I started to research everything.” That early drive to be self sufficient would pay off later for Christian.
Now at the age of 21, with over 5 years under his belt, Christian is a force in the world of music marketing. Working as a freelance Public Relations specialist, Christian has helped over 200 Artists, Businesses, and Entrepreneurs establish their brand and attain major press coverage across the world. His interest into Public Relations started when he was determined to become verified on Instagram. He worked on his own press coverage and within 3 months of a self ran PR campaign he was verified (@iamtrustn on instagram). His knowledge was further deepened when his album collab album “Lapse” made its way into the top 15 on the BillBoard and iTunes charts solely because of his self made marketing plan. By himself he was able to attain major press coverage on websites such as Thisis50, Yahoo, Lyrical Lemonade, ABC, NBC, FOX, Thrive Global, and many more. This is impressive to say the least but the story doesn’t end there.
The main event that solidified Christian’s pursuit as a forceful PR is a moment most of us could only dream about. After being scammed by someone on instagram who claimed to sell “the blue check” Christian was tossed into a group chat with other people who had fallen to the same fate. Almost two years after not talking to any of those friendly victims one of the members reached out to him after seeing the blue check next to Christian’s username on instagram. Christian proceeded to help his friend get verified and also is working to verify each and every user in the scam victim group. After being impressed with his work the CEO of Bentley Records Luca Dayz offered Christian the full time position as Director of PR at his label. He is the youngest ever to be given that title. Beating out someone with 20 years of experience for the job. This wasn’t enough for Christian.
After being motivated by his success Christian founded his own company called Lost Boy Entertainment to help artists by offering Management, Development, Distribution Marketing, and Public Relations services. While just being in it’s start up phase the company’s outlook is sure to be promising. Along with three co-founders Abe Alberts, Aon Smith, and Bryce Vander Sanden Lost Boy Ent. is also offering freelance PR services to Independent Artists and Entrepreneurs as well.
Trust’N is a perfect example of a self-made millionaire figure in our economy. With so much success and an artist, entrepreneur, and public figure he is still going to school to earn a degree in marketing at the University Of Wisconsin- Lacrosse.
